Fire and Bannock

At camp Arnes we made a fire in the forest.
We also ate bannock with butter or cinnamon.
The three things to get a fire going are fuel, oxygen
and ignition.
The rules are:   not to close to the fire, no running

around a fire and make a safe fire.
Birch Bark is best for starting a fire.  It lights very

easily because of the oils in the bark. It helps the fire.
These are the types of wood you need to build a fire.
Types of wood
Tinder – size of pinky
Kindling - size of thumb
Fuel wood - size of arm
My activity group was successful at making a fire

because we made a tee pee of wood that made
the fire rise.
